The leading system for weapons effect simulations

Impetus enables rapid virtual development, innovation, and product verification & validation.

Impetus Solver is a fully GPU accelerated non-linear explicit finite element solver for Windows and Linux.

Additionally, computational modules for Discrete Particle (DP), Smoothed-Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and a powerful CFD solver are included.

Furthermore, a Vulnerable Area Assessment tool for armoured vehicles and a Vulnerability/Lethality tool for blast and fragmentation assessment is available.

Product innovation and R&D

Our software and digital twins can enable rapid virtual development and innovation.

They can save you time, money and risk while developing new products and technologies for weapons or protective structures. This can reduce the number of real tests and experiments significantly.

R&D partnerships with world-renowned universities and research institutes help us to develop new features and innovate our software solutions.

We work with Deakin University (AUS), ISL (GER/FRA), UniBwH/HSU (GER) and Fraunhofer ICT (GER). We also participate in R&D studies funded by European and national agencies.

This includes European Defense Agency, European Defense Fund, EuroStars and The Research Council of Norway.

Impetus DEFENSE is our software for applications in aerospace and defense including weapons effect simulations featuring modeling drone attacks, shaped charges and their interaction with targets, fragmentation, blast modeling and interaction with structures, and vehicle protection.

More about DEFENSE

Impetus BASIC is our civilian software package with advanced features for hot rolling, spot weld simulations, advanced material models, strength and failure testing, dropped object loading and much more.

More about BASIC

Impetus CAMPUS is dedicated for classroom teaching and bachelor/master thesis at universities.

Digital twins and objects database

Through Impetus MARKET, our suite also provides access to a comprehensive library of pre-calibrated inert and energetic materials and objects.

Ceramics, fibre composites, concretes, polymers, laminated glass, foams, high strength steel, high explosives, rubber and anthropomorphic test devices are included.
