What is supplied

Years of experience in modelling metallic materials for ballistic applications is bundled into an object containing datasets for 11 materials. Amongst the materials are steels, titanium alloy, aluminium alloy, tungsten alloy and tantalum – all of which are relevant for the defence industry. The dataset will allow engineers and researchers to improve design activities and to enable comparisons between different materials.

The future

QinetiQ offers services for additional extras to characterise specific material variants and aims to take an active part in driving the development of future datasets for digital twins.
