Material updates

Updated versions of the material objects listed below are now available on Impetus MARKET. The latest GUI (version 8.1.7) is required to use the updated objects.

These are the material objects that have been updated:

  • AA6070-O – J. K. Holmen et al. (2013)
  • AA6070-T4 – J. K. Holmen et al. (2013)
  • AA6070-T6 – J. K. Holmen et al. (2013)
  • AA6070-T7 – J. K. Holmen et al. (2013)
  • AA6082-T4 – T. Børvik et al. (2011)
  • Armox 440T – Impetus (2014)
  • Docol 600 DL – G. Gruben et al. (2016)
  • Docol 1400 M – G. Gruben et al. (2016)
  • Domex Protect 500 – T. Børvik et al. (2009)
  • Hardox 400 – T. Børvik et al. (2009)
  • RHA – Impetus (2018)
  • Weldox 500E – T. Børvik et al. (2009)
  • Weldox 700E – T. Børvik et al. (2009)

Changes:

  • The fracture criterion *PROP_DAMAGE_CL_REGULARIZE has been added as an option to the pre-existing fracture criterion *PROP_DAMAGE_CL. The regularized criterion aims to mitigate mesh dependency by accelerating damage accumulation at local necking. Fracture criterion is selected with the object parameter “Reg”.
  • Objects with calibrations that incorporate strain rate hardening and thermal properties have been supplemented with corresponding calibrations without these features. The added calibrations are intended for quasi-static analyses.
  • The default value of object parameter “Erode”, which controls the erosion option at material failure, has been changed from 3 (node splitting) to 0 (no erosion).
  • Documentation of the objects has been made more uniform and now includes the following sections: origin of material calibrations, stress-strain curve, object parameters, calibration procedure and verification. Validation is included for some of the objects.

Setting object parameters “Reg” = 0 and “Erode” = 3 for a specific object calibration generates the calibration that was available prior to this update.
