Webinar on Shaped Charge modelling

A Shaped Charge jet formation process involves extreme pressures, high strain rates, large deformations and high temperatures. The development of a modelling procedure in IMPETUS Solver has been an evolutionary process. Different methodologies and techniques have been tested, evaluated, refined and sometimes discarded.

We are excited to announce an upcoming webinar featuring Lars Olovsson, CTO of IMPETUS, who will present our latest advancements in Shaped Charge modelling using a coupled Finite Element (FE) and Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) approach.

This method offers a significant improvement over previous techniques, and is now supported by a newly published Knowledge Base article. The document can be found here: Coupled FE/SPH approach in Shaped Charge Modelling

The article focuses on simulating jet formation and presents the background and motivation for transitioning to the FE/SPH approach. It provides an overview of the newly developed automatic meshing functionality, available through our Shaped Charge template, and includes recommendations for numerical stabilization along with example cases.
