We are proud to present version 11 of IMPETUS Solver. For the Engine, our main focus has been on stability, robustness, and reliability. We have resolved many issues and made a wide range of improvements to ensure a more dependable solver experience. On the GUI side, this release introduces major progress with a new visualization engine, new templates, and expanded functionality designed to make IMPETUS easier and more powerful to use. The full list of changes is extensive, so please refer to the Engine and GUI changelogs for complete details. Some of the most important updates are highlighted below.
Webinar on version 11 release
There are a lot of new features and improvements in this release and we want to make sure you get up to speed on all of them. On June 17 @ 10:00 – 11:00 CEST we will host a webinar where we present and demonstrate the most important news in version 11. Be sure not to miss it. Speakers will be Lars Olovsson (CTO), Harald Vistnes (Product Manager) and Kin Fung Chan (Software Developer)
Shell element formulation
Extensive development to support deformable shell elements. We have both triangular and quadratic formations with support for mass scaling, damping, shell sensors, contour output, and shell state output.
UNDEX improvements
Several important improvements has been made to the underwater explosion capabilities. Together with the new deformable shell element formulations, it is now possible to do high quality UNDEX simulations affecting large structures.
Urban blast template
The GUI comes with a new template for easily setting up CFD air blast simulations in urban environments. Use your custom mesh or have the template generate one for you from digital maps and possibly elevation terrain data.
New 3D visualization capabilities
Version 11 of the GUI features a brand new, custom 3D engine capable of high quality visualization. It also introduces some important changes to the workflow. You don’t want to miss the webinar where we demonstrate new tips and tricks.
Multiple viewports
The GUI now supports multiple viewports. Each viewport can contain a 3D scene, a 2D plot or a still image.
