Description
This command is used to assign random variations in flow stress on integration point level. The variation is based on an assumed uniform distribution $[1-\alpha,1+\alpha]$ if subdividing the domain into reference volumes $V_{ref}$, that are much smaller than the integration point volumes $V_{ip}$.
The random flow stress scale function (uniform approximation) is defined as :
$\displaystyle{sf(x) = \left( 1 + \alpha \sqrt{\frac{V_{ref}}{V_{ip}}} x \right)}$
where $x=[-1,1]$ is a random number. The optional variation cap limits the scale factor to the range $[1-cap,1+cap]$. The command is currently only active for MAT_HSS.
